Swappiness, increase responsivness of the system

PostPosted by HarronV » Thu Jul 06, 2017 8:30 am

A few weeks ago, I was digging into swap and found quite some interesting information (as always) in the arch wiki. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Swap#Swappiness

Concerning the swappiness, the wiki links to an external site, which is quite unusual for the arch wiki. But the inormations there really kicked my system:

I have my swappiness set to 1 and the cache-pressure to 70. This works very good when running two virtual machines and rendering some fractals with mandelbulber ... I have a usual memory last of 5-8GB.

I hope you find those informations useful, too.
