(solved) How is the AUR added?

PostPosted by robabo » Mon Jul 03, 2017 8:19 am

Hello,

I remember from installing arch from scratch that I had to add something like repo.archlinux.fr to the pacman.conf. When I look at the pacman.conf in archlabs, it does not contain any entry for the AUR that I can see. How is the AUR enabled? Is it enabled automatically with the installation of AUR helpers such as Yaourt?

Just curious...

You can also use the Pamac-Tray (The system tray icon that reminds you of updates). In its settings you can enable the AUR and automatic updates for the AUR.
It can be enabled to search in the AUR, too.

Hi. Thanks for the responses. I know how to use the aur, though. I just wanted to know how archlabs enabled the aur when there is no entry in the pacman.conf. It seems that when Yaourt (or other helpers) is installed, the aur is automatically installed. So, I guess this is solved.
