(solved) mount alias

PostPosted by HarronV » Tue Jun 13, 2017 4:32 am

Hi :-)

Is it possible to remove the alias which is set for i.e. 'mount' in upcoming distributions? I am always forgetting to do this '/mount' ;-)

Volker

Why do you want the alias to be removed?

Well, first of all, to avoid misunderstanding. It took me quite a while to get it. Using something like
Code: Select all
mount /dev/sda2 /btrfs
usually does not produce any errors. At least not on the 'original' Arch-ISO.

Second, to keep the distro KISS ... emphasis on the last 'S' :-D Instead of overwriting a command, it might be wise for a distribution to use an alternative (like mountc).

And ... and to play back the ball ... why is it important to keep the alias?

Volker
